The North Pole Restaurant serves American Food as American as American Food can get, bacon, eggs, pancakes for breakfast and burgers and turkey sandwiches for lunch. It's a place frozen in time and probably just the way the regular locals raised in Midwest meat and potatoes like it and want to keep it.
I perused the menu to find something different and found the California Burger ($4.25) with a side of chips and pickles to be the most exotic choice available. I’m not sure why the addition of lettuce and tomato plus the raw onion I was allowed as an option made this a California Burger.
The patty was definitely a notch above most of the big chain fast food patty but on the dry as well on the thin and small side – less than a ¼ lb. The toasted buns were a nice homemade/diner style touch. The burger was otherwise bland and only the mayonnaise and ketchup gave it any distinctive zing.
For a foodie looking for something different in burgers and just looking for different food in general, the search continues.
