Update August 1, 2008
I ordered the Ribeye Steak ($13.95), being that it was the one of the low carb foods I could have. I was expecting more of a Perkins quality steak but I was surprisingly impressed. The steak was nicely grilled and when I ordered the steak medium, it came medium, full of flavor and easy on the cut. As much as I hate to admit it, this steak tasted better than the ribeye steak I had at the St Paul Grill.

Obb's is one of those places that if you weren't specifically looking for you wouldn't find it because it is slightly off the beaten track. Its location is unexpected yet somehow it was comfortably right in this neighborhood. It felt good to be at Obb's, like a refuge from the storm. From the outside, it looks like a large two story house but inside there's no mistaking it for a sports bar with the array of TV's tuned into ESPN.
Obb's has a decent menu with a better selection of offerings than I would expect in a sports bar and especially this one based on its location. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich with the pepper toppings and Provolone cheese ($6.75) with a side of coleslaw.
The meat was a little rough as expected and not too flavorful but suitable for a Midwestern palate. The peppers were mildly spicy, lacking the intense Italian flavors and spiciness I've come to expect. The provolone was fully melted forming a seal which conveniently kept the peppers and beef from falling apart with every bite. Overall it was a good if unspectacular presentation and given the enormity of the sandwich, I was satisfied. I would return to try some of their other menu staples.
